M. Hawks' "Beyond Dinner", featuring the work of Tantrica Laurie Handlers, won best short film and it was great having her, the Director of the short film, one of the actors and a participant attend as well. Some of them had not seen the finished version. The discussion afterwards was great.
The winner of the best musical was "Manual for Bored Girls" from Spanish Director Jesus Plaza which was quite controversial in it's depiction of what young ladies get up to when they get bored!!!
The winner of best Documentary "A Guide to your Orgasm" by Sheri Testerman was also shown.
We had DJ Chillachilles spinning great sounds, and of course our fabulous staff from the Museum on hand to answer any questions (Dorian, Dr. Amanda, Mercedes, Jane and Shelley).
Thanks to Nancy and her hubby for making this happen! Great event!
Dorian Gomez (resident curator of the Museum and guest judge in Jamaica for the Festival, Nancy receiving the Certificate of Induction from the Museum, Dr. Amanda Morgan and film maker Michael Hawks
